com.minimal.batterywidgetThis privacy policy applies solely to the Android application Volt Battery Health Widget
(package com.minimal.batterywidget, referred to here as "the App"), published on
Google Play by mtgtechnical ("we", "us", "our"). It describes how the App
accesses, uses, stores, and shares data.
We collect nothing. The App does not gather, transmit, or share any personal or sensitive user data, and nothing about you or your battery ever leaves your device.
There is no server of ours for it to leave to. We operate no backend, no account system, no sign-in, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. We could not receive your data even if we wanted to, because nothing in the App is built to send it.
The App makes network requests for exactly one purpose: asking Google Play whether this device's Google account has bought the optional one-off unlock for the home screen widgets. That request goes to Google, not to us, and carries nothing about your battery. If you never buy the unlock, that check is the only network activity the App will ever perform.
To do its job, the App reads battery information that Android already makes available to applications on your device: charge level, charging status, voltage, temperature, electrical current, charge counter, and where the device exposes it, battery cycle count.
To measure battery health, the App periodically records a short reading of your battery: the time, the charge level, the charge counter, and whether a charger is attached. It keeps a rolling few days of these. From that history it identifies stretches where the battery charged or ran down far enough to measure capacity, and stores those results alongside your calibration settings and whether you have purchased the widget unlock.
All of it is stored only in the App's private storage on your own device. It is not personal information, it is not transmitted anywhere, and no other application can read it.
You can erase this history at any time from within the App using Calibration & Settings → Reset Health Data. Uninstalling the App also removes it completely.
The App requests no Android runtime permissions, so Android never prompts you for anything. It does not access the camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, photos, files, phone state, or any device identifier such as IMEI, advertising ID, or serial number.
Its manifest declares four permissions, all of them normal (non-sensitive) ones that grant no access to your data:
com.android.vending.BILLING: to offer the one-off widget unlock through
Google Play.INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: required by Google's
billing library so it can reach Google Play. The App uses them for nothing else.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: to redraw your home screen widgets after the
device restarts.The App contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising networks, and no tracking technologies. There are no ads, and no data is shared with any third party, because no data is collected.
It includes one third-party component: the Google Play Billing Library, which exists solely to sell and verify the widget unlock. As is normal for Google's libraries, it arrives bundled with parts of Google Play services, and some of those parts belong to features the App does not use, including location. The App declares no location permission of any kind, so it cannot ask for or receive your location, and Android would refuse it if it tried. We mention this because that code is present inside the package, and we would rather tell you than leave you to discover it.
Your purchase is processed by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details, your name, or your address. We learn only that a purchase exists, and only through Google Play's own systems.
Following the in-app privacy policy link opens this page in your browser; that request is handled by your browser and this site's host, and we receive no personal data from it.
Because the App sends us no user data, we hold none, and there is nothing for us to retain or delete. The measurement history described in section 2 lives only on your device, under your control, and is removed when you reset it or uninstall the App.
The App is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. It does not knowingly or unknowingly gather information from children, as it gathers no information at all.
The App transmits no user data, which removes the risk of such data being intercepted in transit; its only network traffic is the purchase check described in section 1, which is carried by Google Play over its own encrypted connection. On-device data is held in the App's private storage area, which Android isolates from other applications. The App is distributed exclusively through Google Play and is signed with a private release key held by the developer.
Battery health is an estimate derived from readings your device exposes, worked out by watching the battery charge or run down over time. On some devices the necessary hardware readings are unavailable, in which case the App tells you so rather than displaying a figure. Nothing the App reports should be treated as a manufacturer diagnostic or as a warranty assessment.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the App's Google Play listing.
